2018 Blackboard Red Wine

The 2018 Blackboard Red Wine was crafted from sev- eral vineyards across three AVAs in Washington State: Columbia Valley (80%), Walla Walla Valley (15%) and Red Mountain (5%). Farmed using sustainable practices, the vines were hand-harvested in the early fall mornings September 5th - November 12th, 2018. Upon arriving at the winery, each cluster was hand-sort- ed and fermented in a combination of concrete and stain- less steel tanks. It was then moved to custom French oak barrels for 18 months of cellaring with over 40 individual evaluations by our winemaking team. 4,426 cases were bottled.

"A value priced blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Blackboard offers lots of ripe black cherry and currant fruits as well as medium-bodied richness, lots of cedary herbs and lead pencil nuances, ripe tannins, and a great finish. If you love classic Bordeaux, give this a whirl. It's well worth checking out."

Tasting Notes

Dark, rich-purple with aromatics of boysenberry, lav- ender, dried tobacco and sage on top of a dry stoney minerality. The texture is rich but finishes light on its feet with a persisting length.
