2018 Rosé

The 2018 Matthews Rosé was crafted using Cabernet Franc from vineyards in Washington State, in the Columbia Valley and Walla Walla Valley AVAs. The fruit was harvested between September 13th and 17th, arrived to the winery in the cool early morning and was destemmed and macerated for 12-18 hours before pressing. The Rosé was fermented and aged in stainless steel for 4 months before being bottled and released.

"The 2018 Matthews Rose is another beautiful new wine by the talented Aryn Morell. The wine opens with a bright bouquet of red cherry, ripe kiwi, guava and suggestions of wild mushroom. The palate reveals a kiss of sweetness and a wonderfully soft texture. Red currant jelly, ripe strawberry and cran-orange flavors round out this awesome new Rose. Drink 2019-2025."

Tasting Notes

A complex nose of chamomile, watermelon and rose water. Hints of dried pineapple, nectarine and spice cut through a background of tangerine and white flowers. Silky and fresh, with ethereal texture carrying macerated citrus and stone fruits. Exceedingly drinkable.
